A Year of Growth & Solidarity at FAIR
The past year has been busy and impactful for FAIR. Our Union has continued to grow, strengthen, and deliver results for members through organizing new UFCW locals and successfully bargaining contracts that provide meaningful wage improvements and protect member’s benefits and working conditions.
FAIR has played a key role in organizing and supporting new UFCW locals from coast to coast. Each organizing effort represents more than just expansion—it represents Union workers coming together to claim a collective voice at work. Through careful coordination, legal guidance, and planning, FAIR has helped ensure newly organized locals have been established on strong footing, with solid contracts for our members.
At the same time, we’re deeply engaged in contract bargaining throughout the country. From first contracts to complex renegotiations, FAIR officers and representatives have been at the table working for fair wage improvements, safe workplaces, and enforceable protections. These wins are the direct
result of preparation, persistence, and solidarity.
A Look Behind the Scenes
What many members may not see is the astonishing amount of personal time and commitment FAIR Officers and Vice Presidents devote to our members. We all work demanding full-time jobs and through out this challenging year, we also dedicate countless hours to supporting members—typically outside of our regular work schedules.
Evenings, weekends, and personal vacation days are routinely spent:
- Responding to contract questions and grievances
- Assisting locals with dispute resolution
- Preparing bargaining strategies and proposals
- Traveling to negotiations and meetings
- Providing guidance during critical moments for members and locals
This work is not confined to one region or one local. FAIR leadership provides support nationwide, ensuring that no member or local stands alone when challenges arise or they need support.
Service Driven by Solidarity
FAIR Officers and Vice Presidents reflect the core values of our Union: solidarity, service to the membership. Their willingness to give their own time underscores a deep belief that strong contracts and fair treatment on the job are worth the effort.
As we look ahead, we remain committed to organizing, bargaining, and defending the rights of workers across the United States. The progress made this year is a testament to what we can achieve together—and to the unwavering dedication of those who serve our members every day.
Thank you to all FAIR members for your trust, your strength and solidarity, and your continued support.
Together, we are building a stronger Union and a better future for all.
