Linda Says Goodbye to FAIR

After 20 plus years serving the membership of FAIR as an Administrative Assistant and then Secretary-Treasurer and 36 plus years working for UFCW 8-Golden State, it is time for me to retire and pursue the next chapter in my life.

lc-retiredWorking for FAIR has given me much satisfaction seeing how having a Union provides a good life for our members. Along with the members we represent, I am grateful to have enjoyed good wages, benefits, and job security working under a Union contract. I’ve seen FAIR grow tremendously with new organizing and believe that it will continue to grow. I’ve enjoyed working with the many different officers of FAIR, who have dedicated their “free time” to helping others. As an employee of UFCW 8, I’ve had an awesome career working in different capacities with the majority of my work in the Grievance Department. Working in the Grievance Department was rewarding to see the affects of enforcing our member’s rights through a Collective Bargaining Agreement. I will miss the people I have had the pleasure of working with both with FAIR and UFCW 8!

In Retirement I plan to keep busy with volunteer work, visiting with friends and family, enjoying my newly remodeled home, and hopefully grandchildren one day. I am also newly engaged and plan to get married next year. Lots to look forward to and I can thank the Union for providing me with the great benefits to retire happily.

I have no doubt Paul Lowney will do a great job and continue to move FAIR in a forward direction. Thank you for the opportunity to serve all of you and I wish you all much happiness in life!
